Twenty-nine scholars author this book to review the development of political science in Taiwan. It is the third comprehensive review of the various subfields in the discipline in the fine tradition of its precursors published in 2000 and 2013. The book contains 22 chapters that fall into six categories: political theory and methodology, comparative politics, international and cross-Strait relations, public administration, Taiwan politics, and politics of China. Building upon the research of Taiwanese scholars and carrying on the spirit of the previous two publications, this book not only reviews the development of the discipline but also explores the current situation of the discipline as a whole and points out possible development in the future. It is a retrospect and prospect for Taiwan’s political science academic community.

With its accessible approach, this book provides readers with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary political science in Taiwan. Whether you are a researcher, a student in the discipline, a young scholar, or a general reader interested in Taiwan’s political studies, this is an essential read.
