The major themes of the conference are explanatory sources for regime legitimacy, support for democracy, institutional trust and/or democratic citizenship. Paper writers are encouraged to place their emphasis on policy performance, quality of governance, democratic understanding, political culture, social capital, partisanship, cleavage over economic distribution, cleavage over economic opening, and/or the impact of social media and Internet.
