Traditionally, statistics used by political scientists can improve the predictive power of a model but not the causal relationship a theory implies. Methodologies aiming to enhance Causal Inference therefore become highly popular in recent decades, and have brought revolutionary impact on political methodology. The Causal Inference Workshop held in the IPSAS is honored to invite Kosuke Imai, a professor at the Princeton University and an internationally well-known scholar of political methodology, to give a short course on Causal Inference. His experience in teaching and foresighted research gives Taiwanese scholars and students an opportunity to learn a high-tech methodology in three days.
