The International Conference on “Semi-Presidentialism and Democracy: Institutional Choice, Performance and Evolution” invites scholars from the United States, Ireland, Germany, Portugal, Australia, Japan, Turkey and Taiwan to jointly discuss the relationship between semi-presidentialism and democracy, including institutional choice, operational sub-types, institutional performance, and possible evolution paths. This is the largest conference on semi-presidentialism ever held, and a major academic activity of our research group on “Taiwan politics and nascent democracies.” IPSAS intends to play a leading role in the advancement of international study of semi-presidentialism, and in the formation of an academic network for the SP study.
