Participants involved in surveys on attitudes towards democracy across the world have been invited. Participants will use global and regional data on attitudes towards democracy to evaluate support for democracy, the actual practice of democracy, the current state of political movements, political alienation or political participation, and institutional trust across Latin America, Central and East Europe, Africa, East Asia, South Asia, and the Arab World. This comparative approach will help build understanding of current attitudes towards and knowledge of democratic practice, as well as the emergence and stabilization of democracy in many non-Western contexts over the last twenty years.
