Wei-Ting Yen is an assistant research fellow at the Institute of Political Science at Academia Sinica. Previously, she was an assistant professor of the Government Department at Franklin and Marshall College. Currently, Dr. Yen also serves as Associate Editor for Asian Politics & Policy. Dr. Yen studies democratic governance, comparative political economy, and welfare state development in Asia. Her current research examines the political impacts of economic insecurity, particularly on welfare state development. She also has several projects examining the politics of the COVID-19 pandemic from a comparative perspective. Her works have appeared in Governance, Public Opinion Quarterly, Journal of East Asian Studies, Social Science Quarterly, etc. She holds her Ph.D. in Political Science from The Ohio State University.
