Since July 6th, IPSAS has added a new member. Dr. Ronan Tse-min Fu joined IPSAS as an assistant research fellow.

Congratulations on Dr. Wen-Hsuan Tsai, associate research fellow at IPSAS, for receiving the 2019 Distinguished Research Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology. Dr. Tsai has had a distinguished track record of publications in the study of Contemporary Chinese politics. He is bound to achieve more in the future and deserves our congratulation.

In the 2018 Taiwanese referendum, citizens can vote on ten questions across several issues. We invite Professor I-Chou Liu (Political Science, NCCU) to give us a talk on the meaning of the referendum and potential implications of it.

This volume collects Jih-wen Lin’s most important and influential research. It is organized by four themes, including rational choice, constitution and semi-presidentialism, electoral systems, and cross-Strait relations. Each theme is preceded by a review article that evaluates the context and contribution of Jih-wen Lin’s works.

Congratulations on Dr. Chung-li Wu, research fellow at IPSAS, for receiving the 2018 Outstanding Scholar Award from the Foundation For the Advancement of Outstanding Scholarship. Dr. Wu specializes in American Politics, Comparative Politics, Electoral Studies, and Urban and Minority Politics. His excellent research performance won him numerous prestigious awards, and is a highly distinguished research fellow of IPSAS.

Academia Sinica Scholarly Monograph Award in the Humanities and Social Sciences is the leading award for book-writing scholars in the areas of humanities and social sciences in the country. The award-winning book co-authored by Dr. Chiou and Lawrence S. Rothenberg is The Enigma of Presidential Power: Parties, Policies, and Strategic Uses of Unilateral Action, published by Cambridge University Press.

Since December 13th, IPSAS has a new member. Dr. Nick Lin joined IPSAS as an assistant research fellow.
