Place : PRESENTATION ROOM, NO. 64, INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL RELATION, NCCU. WAN SHOU ROAD, TAIPEI CITY, TAIWAN R. O. C.
Date : 2025-06-27~28
Time : 09:00-17:10

The International Conference on Subnational Governance in China’s “New Era” brings together scholars from the United States, Canada, Mainland China, and Taiwan to discuss subnational governance under Xi Jinping’s leadership. The conference will address key topics such as local party-building, governance mechanisms, policy innovation, and policy outcomes. Through theoretical analysis and empirical research, the conference aims to explore how local governance in China seeks a balance between centralized authority and local adaptability, and to examine the more profound impacts of governance mechanisms on policy implementation and societal interactions. By convening this conference, we hope to advance academic understanding of subnational governance in China’s “New Era,” foster dialogue and exchange among international and domestic scholars, and contribute new theoretical insights and empirical findings to the Chinese local governance studies field.
