The Institute for Social Science Methodology (ISSM) will be held from July 15 to July 31, 2026, in Taipei. The ISSM provides a unique opportunity for graduate students and junior faculty to receive quantitative training and to meet distinguished methodologists.
This year we are pleased to announce that Chad Hazlett (Department of Statistics and Data Science and in the Department of Political Science, UCLA), ·Max Goplerud (Dept. of Government, University of Texas at Austin), Yao-yuan Yeh (Dept. of International Studies and Modern Languages, University of St. Thomas), Adeline Lo (Dept. Political Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison) , Amy Liu (Dept. of Political Science, University of Texas at Austin) will join us.
The main theme for the ISSM 2026 is “Causal Inference”. In addition, a number of basic courses are also offered this year. The activities of the ISSM course include lectures, tutorials, practical, and presentations.

There are two main parts in the ISSM course: basic courses and theme courses. The main theme of this year is Longitudinal Data Analysis. The total class are 70 hours (15 days), including lectures, tutorials, practical and presentations.
