2025 Institute for Social Science Methodology (Taiwan)

The Institute for Social Science Methodology (ISSM) 2025 will be held from July 8 to July 25, 2025, in Taipei. The ISSM provides a unique opportunity for graduate students and junior faculty to receive quantitative training and to meet distinguished methodologists.

This year we are focuses on the theme of “Data Science.” We are honored to invite internationally renowned scholars including TY Wang (Illinois State University), YS Sung (University of North Texas), Karl Ho (School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences, University of Texas at Dallas), KL Ma (University of California, Davis), Xiang Zhou (Harvard University), Amy Liu (University of Texas at Austin), Wayne Lee (Lehigh University), and Adeline Lo (University of Wisconsin-Madison), along with leading domestic scholars in quantitative social science to deliver lectures. In addition to the thematic courses, this year we also feature foundational courses offered in previous years, such as categorial data analysis, causal inference, research design.

There are two main parts in the ISSM course: basic courses and theme courses. The main theme of this year is Data Science. The total class are 98 hours (17 days), including lectures, tutorials, practical and presentations.
