The IPSAS is planning to host a two-hour forum on August 6 to celebrate our institute’s birthday. This year the theme of the forum is about democracy recession. In recent years, we witness democratic recession in many parts of the world such as Eastern Europe, Southeastern Asia, and Latin America. The situations include state violation of human rights and democratic procedure, declining press freedom and civil society freedom, the rise of populism, and the overexpansion of executive power following the pandemic, etc. The forum invites three speakers from different parts of the world, each will talk about 20 mins (in English or in Chinese) and then followed by Q&A. in Chinese) and then followed by Q&A.
